Hangar homes at Te Kowhai Airpark
A little more room for the way you live

You know how to build a good home. Give yourself room to build yours.

The ute. The tools. The project that has taken over the garage. When your life comes with this much gear, space deserves a place on the wish list.

At Te Kowhai Airpark, explore a home and hangar designed together, with the practical details considered from the start. A place to put down roots near Hamilton and make room for the life you’ve worked for.

A place for the gear. A home for everyone.

You spend enough time making other people’s places work. Your own should feel just as well thought through.

Start with what your household needs, then bring the bigger questions into the design: where everything goes, how you get to it, and how the home still feels like home at the end of the day.

Think beyond the double garage

Bring your storage wish list to the conversation. Tools, equipment and the weekend project all deserve consideration before the plans are drawn.

02

Get the layout right

Door openings, vehicle access, storage and the connection to the house. The practical details can make all the difference to how a property feels every day.

03

Make room for switching off

A kitchen you enjoy coming home to. Outdoor living for the family. Space to put the day away. Give those things as much thought as the hangar.

Te Kowhai Airpark

You don’t have to fly to feel at home here.

Te Kowhai Airpark is a residential aviation community near Hamilton, and non-pilots are welcome to buy here too.

Aircraft and flying are part of daily life. If that appeals, come and look at the place with fresh eyes. The combination of a home, hangar and aviation setting could be a better fit than you expected.

Bring the ideas you’ve been saving.

You can use your own builder at Te Kowhai Airpark. Start a conversation about the section, your home and the space you have in mind, then work through a design that suits the site and the Airpark’s requirements.

Tell us what you would like to keep at home and how you intend to use it. We can help you understand which questions to resolve before you commit to a design.

Questions worth asking

Can I have a workshop or run my business from home?

Tell us what you have in mind. Storage, hobby use and operating a business can have different requirements. Your proposed use needs to be checked against the relevant rules before you plan around it.

Can I build a hangar first and a house later?

A hangar must be built alongside the home or after it. These sections are for a residential property, so the home needs to be part of your plans from the beginning.

What should I bring to a visit?

Bring a rough wish list for your home, the gear you want to accommodate, and any vehicle dimensions that matter. You don’t need finished plans to start a useful conversation.

What does living beside an aerodrome feel like?

Flying is part of the setting. A visit is the best way to experience the Airpark and ask about aircraft activity, community life and ongoing ownership costs.
